Pressure, temperature and pressing time all have positive effects on oil recovery, but negative effect on oil quality. Kernel size reduction has a negative effect on oil recovery and quality. Moisture content in the range of 4–5% (w.b.) gave the highest oil recovery.

Optimization and modeling of extraction of solid coconut
Fig. 4a and b shows the effect of temperature and reaction time on extraction of oil. The oil yield increases from 19.7% to 21.9% and 21.3% to 23.6% at temperature 70 °C and 80 °C for batch extraction and soxhlet extraction respectively.
